Ever since I picked
up my first pencil and learned to string three
words together, I knew I wanted to be a writer.
Later, that love combined with a fascination
with history that really blossomed when I moved
to New England. I studied English at the
University of Connecticut, and after graduating
I joined the editorial staff of a reference book
publisher -- practical, but not very passionate.
I later worked as a freelance writer, and again
I found that the work didn't at all satisfy my
creative side. It wasn't until I discovered the
wonderful genre of historical romance -- history
with happy endings -- that I found my passion
and my focus as a writer. As I began my first
manuscript, I joined the Romance Writers of
America and the Florida Romance Writers,
found critique partners and set out to learn as
much as I could about the industry. It’s been a
true labor of love, and if any word sums up my
road to realizing my dream, it's PERSISTENCE!
Today I live in South Florida with my husband
and two beautiful daughters. When not writing,
which isn’t often, I love to travel with my
family. Trips to England, Scotland and, more
recently, Ireland, have inspired me, stirred my
imagination and renewed that childhood
conviction that magic is real if you believe
hard enough.
